  • A former national Rugby star, Kenzo Suzuki debuted for New Japan amidst much hype on the 1/4/00 Tokyo Dome show, having a high profile match with Manabu Nakanishi. His first full tour for the company was "FIGHTING SPIRIT 2000", where he was immediately moved up the card above other young lions. A trial series was set, where he would have five matches. He ended up only having four of them, as his scheduled match with Tatsumi Fujinami on 2/20 was cancelled. Despite scoring no wins, this was vital experience for Kenzo, as he faced many superstars.

Kenzo Suzuki Challenge Trial Series (2/1/00 to 2/11/00)

    1. (2/1/00 @ Yoyogi National Stadium Gymnasium #2) Kensuke Sasaki beat Kenzo Suzuki (6:01) by referee stop.
    2. (2/4/00 @ Tsukisamu Green Dome) Genichiro Tenryu & Shiro Koshinaka beat Kensuke Sasaki & Kenzo Suzuki (7:37) when Tenryu used a lariat on Suzuki.
    3. (2/5/00 @ Tsukisamu Green Dome) Yuji Nagata beat Kenzo Suzuki (8:52) with a cross armbreaker.
    4. (2/11/00 @ Osaka Maishima Arena) Scott Norton beat Kenzo Suzuki (5:40) with a powerbomb.
