A former national Rugby star, Kenzo Suzuki debuted for New Japan amidst much hype on the 1/4/00 Tokyo Dome show, having a high profile match with Manabu Nakanishi. His first full tour for the company was "FIGHTING SPIRIT 2000", where he was immediately moved up the card above other young lions. A trial series was set, where he would have five matches. He ended up only having four of them, as his scheduled match with Tatsumi Fujinami on 2/20 was cancelled. Despite scoring no wins, this was vital experience for Kenzo, as he faced many superstars.
