Profile:
Throughout his school days, Fujita was involved in both amaresu and swimming events. He began his professional wrestling career in Big Japan, debuting in April, 1997. His quickness and fire helped activate Big Japan's junior division. In June, 1999, he transferred to Michinoku Pro, where he improved as a wrestler in the fast paced environment. In 2000, he represented the company in New Japan's Best of the Super Jr. tournament. Later in 2000, he quit Michinoku Pro with Gran Naniwa, and headed overseas, where he competed on the American independent circuit, before moving to Puerto Rico for a while, where he formed a friendship with New Japan's Shinya Makabe. He returned to Japan in 2002 as part of TAKA Michinoku's Kaientai Dojo, where he quickly became the top star. In May, 2002, he invaded New Japan and demanded heavyweight opposition, deluding himself into thinking he was a super heavyweight. After being completely beaten by Yutaka Yoshie and Kensuke Sasaki, he formed an interpromotional team with Makabe, and started gaining more success. Late in 2002, he switched his attention to the junior division, quickly scoring a big win when he upset Heat in December, that result boosting him into top contendership for the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Title. He made a strong challenge for Koji Kanemoto's title in February, 2003, winning Kanemoto's respect and becoming his disciple. In April, 2003, he left Kaientai Dojo and became a freelancer, making New Japan his main battlefield, before returning to Michinoku Pro later that year. An arrogant young punk, Fujita is one of Japan's top young junior heavyweights, bringing an abundance of talent and charisma to each match with him.
